Principal
Jim, who joined the Firm as part of our merger with Boyle, Brogan, Shusman & Nicastro, has more than 36 years of diversified experience in the field of taxation, accounting, and auditing. He has provided tax and accounting services to clients in the wholesale, construction, manufacturing, real estate, and service industries. Jim served as the director of tax services at Boyle, Brogan, Shusman & Nicastro, the firm that he co-founded as Boyle, Brogan & Company.
Having specialized in the tax aspects of accounting early in his career, Jim has developed expertise in planning to minimize taxes for closely-held companies and their stockholders. This includes, executive compensation and corporate Federal tax planning, multi-state tax structuring, and planning for tax-exempt organizations. As a tax specialist, Jim has successfully represented clients at various levels of appeals before the Internal Revenue Service, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the State of New Jersey.
In previous employment, Jim was repeatedly chosen as a member of that firm’s national tax faculty and continued this educational function at Boyle, Brogan, Shusman & Nicastro. He has trained many practitioners throughout the country.

Education
Jim earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Philadelphia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Dayton. He has supplemented his education with a variety of continuing education courses, both as instructor and participant.
