Principal
Richard has provided economic, statistical and financial consulting services to attorneys, insurance companies and corporate clients since 1992.
Prior to joining Parente Randolph, he spent approximately 10 years with a Big Four accounting firm. He specializes in providing consulting and expert witness assistance including economic and statistical analysis related to commercial disputes. Richard assists law firms and corporate clients with the calculation of damages, econometric model building, forecasting, market studies, profitability analysis, valuation and product pricing studies, among other tasks.
Richard focuses on all forms of Intellectual Property including Patents, Trademarks, Copyright, Trade Dress and Trade Secrets. Representative Intellectual Property assignments include quantifying economic damages in the form of lost profits, reasonable royalties, price erosion and convoyed sales. Richard has also evaluated various forms of Intellectual Property in non-dispute contexts. In addition, Richard has worked on other assignments such as Antitrust, Breach of Contract and Landham Act matters.
Richard has provided consulting and expert witness assistance for all industry sectors but has an industry focus in the medical device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries where he also provides economic and strategy consulting on pricing and contracting issues for various corporate clients. He has served as an expert witness in Federal and State courts.
Richard is currently an Adjunct Lecturer in Law at Villanova University School of Law where he teaches "Economic Damages." He has presented seminars to organizations such as the ABA, AICPA and AIPLA on topics including business strategy, an economist's role in antitrust litigation, and advanced intellectual property damages and valuation issues. He has published on topics such as trademarks, lost profit methodology, patent infringement damages and intellectual asset management.

Education
Richard has a B. Comm. with Honours in Economics from the University of Natal in South Africa and a Ph.D and M.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland.
