Leadership and Innovation

The need for diversification and specialization in the senior living industry has prompted providers to develop innovative programs and service delivery models. Leadership has been challenged to embrace change and create fresh new approaches to care and service delivery.

Leadership and innovation are the strategic foundation for organizational growth and stability in an unstable climate.

At Parente Randolph LLC, we believe that a sound strategy is imperative for continued success, yet we find many providers do not emphasize the importance of a strategic planning initiative or on-going strategic plan implementation and monitoring. We have found successful organizations to be those who embrace change, offer an energized leadership team who commit to carrying out the strategy and mission of the organization, and provide innovative solutions to ‘stay in the game’ and ‘win’.

How can your organization migrate toward innovative solutions that tackle your issues head on? It all starts with a strategic plan and a focus on change and innovation. Some strategic methods for organizational change include :

  • Consumer driven care models, including new construction and extensive renovations of nursing home physical plant to deliver consumer directed care and services in a modern, less “institutional” environment;
  • Culture Change initiatives shifting away from traditional medical model ‘scheduling’ of care delivery to residential home like environment including changes in meal service times, elimination of overhead paging, morning wake up ‘schedules’ left to resident choice, cleaning and linen delivery times more appropriate based on resident’s life style, reasonably flexible medication delivery and other innovative ways to personalize the resident’s experience;
  • Creating demand for new and innovative services versus fighting for existing demand, such as Blue Ocean Strategy® model; and
  • Full Dimensional Life™ service delivery that seeks to provide experiences beyond the physical care aspect and opportunities to ‘give back’ to society.

Start the New Year in the right direction. Let Parente Randolph LLC assist you with developing the strategic direction that is right for you and your marketplace.
