American Society of Association Executives site for the society is dedicated to advancing the value of voluntary associations to society and supporting the professionalism of the individuals who lead them. Association of Small Foundations is a membership organization of foundations having five or fewer persons. They help in all aspects of foundation work: public relations, writing letters, cutting checks, mailing and processing grant applications, working with trustees and grantees, doing site visits and evaluations, managing assets, tax matters, etc. The Century Foundation is a research foundation that undertakes timely and critical analyses of major economic, political, and social institutions and issues. ChangingOurWorld.com's services include fundraising and development outsourcing, capital campaigns and major gift efforts, planned giving, a philanthropy division for corporate and personal philanthropy, as well as on-line fundraising and communications The Chronicle of Philanthropy site contains a variety of articles and links on virtually every topic related to the nonprofit sector. It has job ads and information on grant deadlines and awards. While a fair amount of information is available to the public, a large portion of it is available only to subscribers. Communityjobs.org continues to be the only comprehensive national resource for employment, internships, and career development for non-profit organizations. The Foundation Center is the nation's leading authority on institutional philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public, through its Web site, print and electronic publications, five library/learning centers, and a national network of cooperating collections. The Gilbert Center has analyzed websites of nonprofits dealing with children and youth, the environment and the disabled and published their studies. By the end of their project, they hope to have developed some tools and benchmarks that will be useful to nonprofit organizations in either starting or enhancing their web-based communication strategies. Guidestar is the source for financial information on individual nonprofits and it also has articles and information of general interest. Independent Sector is a membership organization with a good site for researchers and visitors who want to learn more about the state of the nonprofit (or independent) sector. There are links to articles and reports prepared by major nonprofit organizations and research centers dealing with volunteering, public policy and lobbying. Idealist has a large nonprofit job site and a collection of news items about nonprofit organizations around the world. Visitors can also find upcoming conferences using a detailed search engine. Internet Nonprofit Center has some very useful information and some very outdated stuff. Its FAQs are uneven but surprising. The Knowledge Hub is an excellent site with research, articles and links. The Milano School of New School University is a graduate program in nonprofit management. National Center for Charitable Statistics is the national repository of data on the nonprofit sector in the United States. Working closely with the IRS and other government agencies, private sector service organizations, and the scholarly community, NCCS builds compatible national, state, and regional databases and develops uniform standards for reporting on the activities of charitable organizations. Network for Good is a nonprofit collaboration to help nonprofit organizations increase capacity, reach new audiences, and build Internet strategies. Nonprofit Genie provides information and resources for the nonprofit community. It is sponsored by C-MAP (California Management Assistance Partnership), a consortium of 14 regional, nonprofit support organizations providing training and technical assistance to local nonprofits. C-MAP maintains the Nonprofit GENIE website as a free service to help nonprofit staff and board members manage more successfully. The Nonprofit Zone provides free tools and resources to help nonprofits work better, smarter, and faster. Organization Development Network is an association of organization development practitioners representing a range of professional roles in a wide variety of organizations. The OD Network supports its members in their work in human organization and systems development, and offers leadership and scholarship to the profession. The website provides a range of useful resources to practitioners and excerpts from the OD Network's professional journal, OD Practitioner. Policy Action Network - CNET's Best of the Web says, "...the breadth and variety of material make PAN an excellent source for scholarly or journalistic research. PAN offers a serious examination of the issues behind the policies that govern our lives." Society for Nonprofit Organizations encourages networking, alliances, collaborations, and sharing among nonprofit organizations and their leaders. Strategic Solutions' mission is to disseminate information about strategic restructuring to nonprofit leaders, funders, and consultants. This website offers the largest collection of resources available including several reports available for free download; regularly updated FAQs, tips, and case studies, references to books, articles, and websites relevant to strategic restructuring; and information on the Strategic Solutions project, team, and services. Support Center for Nonprofit Management provides management training and consulting, disseminates information and practical resources to the sector, and works to build strategic alliances. Volunteer Match is a nonprofit, online service that helps interested volunteers get involved with community service organizations throughout the United States. Volunteers enter their ZIP code on the web site to quickly find local volunteer opportunities matching individual interests and schedules. Wiley
